Duties Summary:


Operate the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) to provide current information on flights and baggage claims areas; operate a telephone switchboard and public address system to receive, refer or route requests for information, service or assistance; and to provide 24-hour emergency referral services for the Airports, Harbors and Highways Divisions on Oahu; monitor the fire alarm system and route repair crews or fire units as the alarm system indicates; and perform other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:


To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:


Basic Education/Experience: Six months of work experience which demonstrated knowledge of correct English grammar and usage; the ability to read, understand and apply oral instructions; and maintain logs. This requirement may also be met by possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.


General Experience: One year of experience which shows that the applicant has the ability to speak clearly, and to deal effectively with people either in person or through telecommunications.


Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found “not guilty by reason of insanity,” of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant’s responsibility.
