Job description:
The Advanced Lead Engineer / Technologist will be an experienced design engineer responsible for accelerating progress on NPI introductions, delivery, cost out, and quality on Turbine Airfoil components while co-located at their assigned manufacturing site. In this role, you will utilize design experience, problem solving, and relationship building skills to develop and execute objectives for self and others to affect business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
- Execute and lead technical projects focused on improving Engineering and Manufacturing integration
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Lead or provide engineering support to teams working on improving assigned hardware strength, durability, cost, weight, quality initiatives, design / analysis methods, and standardization projects
- Interface with all Engineering and Supply Chain disciplines needed to ensure compliance to safety and quality requirements, meet shop delivery commitments, improve productivity, and address part non-conformance and loss issues
- Lead or support other Engineering and Supply Chain tasks and initiatives
- Support New Product Introduction hardware design or manufacturing by adding rigor and incorporating lessons learned
- Identify / support Engineering cost-out projects
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to personnel supporting assigned projects
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures
