Anthony Cole Associates are proud to exclusively partner an established business who are looking to appoint at Commercial Director in a newly created role, who seeks an opportunity to have a huge impact on an organisation that is currently in growth mode that is looking to double it’s profit margins. This opportunity comes with huge potential, and a position on the board is achievable for the right candidate once proven, which will be ascertained by delivery in areas such as futureproofing of the business, ensuring current contracts maximise profitability whilst mitigating risk, and facilitating new business for the organisation. The incumbent will be happy to travel on average 2 days a week, and the role could work from home 1/2 days with the flexible working policy that the company operates.
The successful candidate amongst other responsibilities will:-
- Lead a team of 10 (5 sales, 5 admin)
- Create, develop and implement commercial strategy/vision
- Be responsible for business diversification activities
- Create new commercial policies and procedures
- Create opportunities for new business
- Look at possible M&A activity in addition to organic growth
The ideal candidate on paper will have:-
- A good academic background, with either an MBA or professional Accounting Qualification
- Evidence of implementation of policies & procedures
- Commercial strategy/direction implementation
- Driving/leading teams
- Ideally a background in a contractual driven business, astute in contact negotiations and maximisation of profitability
- Industry background isn’t important, and the person could come from a small or large company although experience within a Contract for Services is highly desirable
Soft skills that are key:-
- A desire to work for a business eager to grow, where the person can have a real impact and looking to earn a board membership
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Politically astute
- Strong people management skills
Salary offered is to £80,000 (possibly to £85,000 for an exceptional candidate) plus Car/Car Allowance and performance bonus, pension 6% with salary sacrifice scheme, 30 days holiday, DIS cover.
