Phillips 66 owns or leases various assets to provide strategic, timely and environmentally safe delivery of crude oil, refined products, natural gas and NGL. These assets include pipeline systems; product, crude oil, marine and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) terminals; a petroleum coke handling facility; and a fleet of railcars.
As of Dec. 31, 2012, Phillips 66 manages approximately 18,000 miles of crude oil, raw NGL, natural gas and petroleum products pipeline systems in the United States, including those partially owned or operated by affiliates. In addition, the company owns or operates 39 finished-product terminals, five LPG terminals, 10 crude oil terminals and one petroleum coke exporting facility.
Responsibilities may include:
The Technician Training Program prepares the Technician Trainee to assume full electrical, mechanical and maintenance responsibility for the area to which he or she is assigned after program completion. The program is 6 to 12 months long, combining operating responsibility with new equipment installation, and troubleshooting and maintenance of existing facilities. The Technician Trainee is also expected to read and study Company and industry information, as well as participate in one-to-one training with experienced Technicians. Some study is required outside normal work hours in order to complete the training on time with satisfactory results. Each Trainee is primarily responsible for their own training, and is expected and encouraged to actively search out answers to questions and ask for assistance when needed. Periodic reviews are held with the Trainee to check his or her progress and apprise them of areas, which require further development. This is a pass or fail program.
Upon successful completion of the training, the technician trainee is expected to relocate to the next open Technician position within the Division. This program requires dedication on the part of each participant. Those who successfully complete the program are prepared to fill an important position offering challenging and diverse work assignments
Qualifications
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to perform/comply with or without reasonable accommodation for the following:
- Willing and able to climb various ladders and stairs to operate valves, gauge tanks, or perform maintenance on equipment. are a part of this position. The ladders and stairs range from 5 to 40 feet in height.
- Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain
- Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions
- Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time
- Willingness to travel overnight 10% to 15% of the time
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Willingness to be on call
- Willing and able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime
Preferred:
- Associates degree in Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics
- 3 or more years relevant work experience in I&E Technician field
- 3 years experience of technical knowledge and training to maintain electrical and mechanical equipment
- 3 years experience working with electronics — both digital and analog circuitry including drawings and schematics
- One year of experience with the following:
- Allen-Bradley PLC’s.
- Rosemount Transmitters.
- OMNI flow computer.
- Other general pipeline equipment
- Allen-Bradley PLC’s.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and Outlook and SAP
