At John Deere, operations is directly responsible for producing equipment that helps feed and clothe people around the world. Here, production supervisors have the opportunity to apply their team–building and problem–solving skills, coordinate product launches and serve as liaisons between union and salaried workers. In operations, change is a constant with the introduction of new products, the implementation of new technology and the recruitment of additional team members to keep pace with our continuing growth.


John Deere Construction and Forestry (CF), located in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Material Coordinator to support production departments/employees on part shortages or problems and drive for resolution and root cause of issues. In addition, you will:


  • Communicate issues/resolution to the appropriate module representatives for follow up.

  • Attend daily production meetings to report on hot parts.

  • Recommend procedures for specific situations that will maintain inventory accuracy and management.

  • Find and correct root cause of material shortages. May provide recommendations for solutions.

  • Work critical shortage reports to ensure part availability.

  • Implement the output from the engineering release and change management process.

  • Support monthly and yearly financial audits.

  • Resolve consumption errors and drive for issue resolution.

  • Support assembly line productivity and module goals.

  • Participate as team member or team lead on Inventory Accuracy Teams.

Note: Overtime may be required to support the production schedule.

What It Takes

We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Management, or equivalent experience. In addition, we require:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven organizational experience handling multiple projects or tasks.

  • Experience working in a team environment and delivering expected results.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing operations environment.

  • Ability and willingness to work some off-shift hours to support operations.

A strong candidate will also have:

  • Relevant SAP experience.

  • Experience with the Order Fulfillment Process.

  • Experience with unit processes and operations.

  • Proven experience working proactively in a self-guided environment

  • Previous experience with material flow.
