Shear Meadow provides intensive rehabilitation for men with learning disability. The focus at Shear Meadow is on achieving greater social inclusion and on improving daily living skills. Clinical and therapeutic input is provided by the multi disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists and nurses. Shear Meadow is a 6 bed male unit.
Job Profile Your role will include:
-To support other members of staff in the provision of care
-To participate in client interaction, assisting clients with daily living skills/personal hygiene and undertake observations as and when required
-To ensure patients retain as much of their dignity and individuality as possible.
-To be involved in the general activities of the hospital as required. Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and, just like our young people, you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support.
Candidate Profile You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you’ll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post.
