SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This position is responsible to perform a variety of duties in the operational area including but not limited to: reading meters with automated meter reading hardware & software, reading other miscellaneous meters with handheld computer or manual data collection, field repair of automated meter reading devices, review, analyze and update various meter reading and billing reports and perform minor troubleshooting of computer problems pertaining to automated meter reading POSITION REQUIREMENTS Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of a General Education Development Certificate. Must be capable of completing Operator Qualification Program and operations of associated equipment/tools. Working knowledge of computers and software is preferred. Ability to work independently. Ability to deal with the public. Must be able to obtain CDL License if required, possesses a valid driver’s license, and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Safe Driving Policy. Must be able to walk at least 10 miles per day in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, walk, climb, push, pull, lift and carry 20-50 lbs, twist, reach above and below shoulder levels, fine finger movements. Must be able to work in climates of extreme cold / extreme heat. Potential exposure to stinging insects / insecticides and possible requirement to be in Respirator Program. |
