GOAL Global was established in 1977 and is headquartered in Dublin Ireland, with humanitarian assistance and development programs in 20 countries and annual revenues of over $220M. GOAL USA was established in 1988 and in 2015 it began an aggressive expansion including appointing its first CEO and recruiting a senior team of aid professionals.

Overview of the role

GOAL USA is seeking a Development Director to manage its fundraising activities with an emphasis on building its Major Gifts support.

The position reports to the CEO of GOAL USA and will also work closely with the Global Head of Fundraising and Marketing in GOAL Global. Our Focus and Values

The Development Director must be able to work independently and effectively in what in some respects is an environment akin to a start-up. Personal initiative, an aggressive but professional approach, and good judgment will be the key to success.

Where this position differs from a start-up is that the Development Director will be raising funds for well-established and compelling humanitarian programs with a demonstrated track record of excellence. And the Development Director will be working with a team comprised of some of the most experienced professionals in the humanitarian aid field.

This position offers the successful applicant an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of millions of our beneficiaries, the majority of whom are women and children. The successful candidate for this position will be joining an experienced and committed team focusing on ways to improve humanitarian response in the face of growing impacts from climate change on conflict, natural disasters, drought, extreme poverty, overpopulation, disease, and malnutrition.

A complement to our team would be a professional who shares our commitment to the world’s most vulnerable populations, is able and willing to work hard, confront and overcome obstacles and not let the inevitable frustrations diminish your spirit and productivity. The successful candidate must be an innovative thinker.

GOAL USA offers competitive compensation, benefits and generous leave package in recognition that it will be important to recharge your batteries during the year.
