The Sr Program Associate supports the Syria transition project, including project design, implementation, fundraising, and management. Assists the Syria team in supporting the Syria transition initiative project goals. Works with relevant consultants, external experts, and partner organizations to achieve project goals. Coordinates with the director to develop budgets and proposals, and to manage grants and project materials and information. Coordinates meetings, periodic workshops, travel and conferences in line with project objectives. Includes domestic and international travel. Reports to the Conflict Resolution Program’s Director.
Ideally, the Senior Program Associate will have a post graduate degree and minimum of four years of program related experience in conflict resolution, international relations, human rights and/or democratic development. Applicant should be detail-oriented, well organized, and committed to excellence. Strong written and communication skills and facility with computers is a must. Experience living/working in the Middle East and/or extensive knowledge of the regional political dynamics is highly preferred. Professional proficiency in Arabic required, a high level of personal energy, positive attitude and ability to work in a team setting are essential. This position is Atlanta-based but involves international travel.
