Dining Site Assistant - Brown County, WI - Green Bay, WI

Manage the congregate meal program, assures the provision of nutrition education, plans/coordinates socialization activities at dining site and participates in the development and ongoing growth and success of the café/coffee-house model within the ADRC.

Essential Duties:


Organizes, supervises, coordinates and monitors the operations of the dining site.


Ensures dining site is welcoming and supportive of participants.


Ensures food handling and service meets Serving Safe Food guidelines.


Recruits volunteers to assist at the dining site.


Records and submits monthly volunteer hours to Accounting Clerk.


Supports and mentors senior aides, WISE workers, volunteers, etc. at the dining site.


Ensures that meal participants have the opportunity to contribute and that contributions are handled according to federal and agency policies.


Plans and organizes opportunities for socialization and other activities at dining site in collaboration with the AddLife Coordinator.


Ensures that nutrition education is provided at dining site.


Maintains accurate participation records and other program documentation.


Provides back-up for other Nutrition Program activities and services within the ADRC.


Participates in the planning and goal-setting efforts of ADRC.


Participates as a team player to further agency goals.


Has a “Duty to Report” during a community emergency/disaster according to the ADRC Emergency Preparedness Plan.


Minimum Qualifications Required:


Education and Experience:


High school diploma or equivalent.


12 months experience working with older adults, adults with disabilities and volunteers, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Licenses and Certifications: CPR/AED Certification, ServSafe Food Handling Certification, Valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of program planning.
Knowledge of the biological, social and psychological aspects of aging and disabilities.
Knowledge of report preparation and file maintenance.
Knowledge of MSOffice Computer Program office suite.
Knowledge of basic management practices and techniques.
Knowledge of proper nutrition standards of older adults and adults with disabilities.
Knowledge of state, federal and local regulations regarding dining sites.
Ability to understand and practice the confidential nature of the position.
Ability to plan and organize programs and manage volunteer staff.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, consumers, volunteers and the general public.
Ability to make decisions in accordance with recognized policies and procedures.
Ability to relate to the consumers and act as an advocate.
Ability to plan, coordinate, manage and promote the dining & ADD Life programs.
