Landfill Scale Operator - City of Elko - Elko, NV


Under general supervision of the Landfill Superintendent, this position is responsible for performing routine cash handling, accounting, and record keeping functions. Duties will include, but will not be limited to: providing customer service for landfill customers; collecting landfill user fees; operating cash registers and computers; reconciling and balancing cash receipts; maintaining ledgers; inspecting incoming loads; answering telephones; and performing related work as required by the Landfill Superintendent.


This position requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D., preferably supplemented by one year of full-time experience working in customer service, working with financial transactions, and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform this type of work. This position also requires a current, valid Driver’s License and a working knowledge of cash handling procedures, computer systems, 10-key, and typical office equipment.


The hourly pay rate for this position is $15.72 – $17.76, plus an excellent benefits package.
