The Virginia Lottery’s Marketing Department is seeking several hourly Special Events Associates to work on an ON-CALL BASIS while modeling “we’re game” behaviors. Key Responsibilities include assisting with selling Virginia Lottery products, distributing premium items, and interacting with the public at approved special events where the Virginia Lottery has a presence. Such statewide events include NASCAR, Harbor Fest, State Fair, and concert events, just to name a few. While working these events, the selected candidates will be responsible for providing assistance with the loading and unloading of event materials. Additional responsibilities may include providing basic office assistance at the Lottery’s Richmond area locations. This is an hourly position WITHOUT benefits. Other duties may be required based on supplementary assignments. Minimum Qualifications The persons selected for this position must: Be able to work independently with low levels of supervision. Possess strong interpersonal communication, organizational and time management skills. Present a professional and engaging personality for special events while providing excellent customer service. Have good math skills and the ability to work with large sums of money. Be able to work a 12-hour shift, lift and move up to 25 pounds, and use common tools. Be available to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and overnight travel. Equivalent combination of training and work experience may be substituted for minimum requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a Lottery preferred. Special Requirements The selected candidates must be able to pass a background investigation. Must have a valid Driver’s license. Weekend work and occasional travel.
