Job Description
Eaton located in Jackson, MI has an opening for an assembler.
The assembler will perform final assembly of a wide variety from small to large bore cylinders. The position will also require occasional assigned direct labor (occasional test as required).
Essential Functions:
• Assembles metal parts and components in multiple sizes and types of structures and housings.
• Reads and interprets parts details and mechanical prints to assemble components
• Fits parts together to form final assemblies using electric and air powered tools
• Cross trains into all areas of the assembly process
• Focuses on quality, customer service, safety, productivity
• Assists in general housekeeping of work area.
SHIFT: 1st Shift – Monday – Friday 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM. Must be willing to work required overtime as needed, including potential weekend work.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
•Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
•Must reside within a 50 mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided.
•Must be legally authorized to work within the United States without company Sponsorship.
Position Criteria:
• Ability to work in a team environment, has strong communications skills and demonstrates accountability
• Ability to work independently and take direction from supervisor or lead person
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• The ability to read a tape measure to 1/32th”
• Must be willing to work overtime as required, including weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, and additional weight with a team lift or other lift assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience using various tools, including: manual/electric/pneumatic tools, template/fixtures, hand carts, measuring equipment and prescribed safety equipment is preferred.
• 1 year of experience reading blueprints is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in reading mechanical drawings is preferred.
