We are looking for Facilities Manager to help us with the PSI’s headquarters office facilities operations including reception, mail room, space planning, supplies, maintenance, records and security management. The Facilities Manager will lead a team of four administrative staff and will coordinate closely with building property managers. This full-time position is based in Washington, DC and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Your contribution


You will:


  • Manage the office assignment process. Plan and coordinate intra-office moves, work/renovations, purchase office furniture and equipment needs per corporate policy.

  • Manage mail/shipping, records management, and security operations.

  • Manage reception operations and maintain online employee directory. Provide visa and passport services for PSI staff international travel;

  • Serve as the principal point of contact with all PSI staff for all Facilities-related services and coordinate closely with outsourced building management company for maintenance needs.

  • Oversee regular maintenance and upkeep of PSI office space and supply needs.

  • Ensure that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards, including OSHA compliance;

  • Responsible for managing and tracking the budget for the facilities department;

  • Manage all contracts and manage costs related to the responsibility of this department. Monitor expenses and payments; cost reduction initiatives;

  • Supervise and manage performance of staff of four.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?


The basics


  • You have a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management or related field;

  • You have 7 to 10 years of experience with property management and/or maintenance;

  • You have an ability to maintain a pleasant, helpful and professional attitude in high stress situations;

  • You have proven ability to prioritize and follow-through on a variety of duties under deadlines;

  • Physical requirements: ability to lift and/or move up 50 lbs., ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, ability to bend/ kneel, ability to sort and deliver mail/packages to floors, ability to assemble/repair items/furniture;

  • You have experience working under minimum supervision;

  • You are team oriented;

  • You have strong organizational and project management skills;

  • You have working knowledge of human resource management principles and practices;

  • You have supervisory experience;

  • You have sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations;

  • You have established reliability;

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
