Job Summary:
Applies specialized knowledge UCOP cashiering principles and operations in a public university environment. Records various combinations of registration fee payments and miscellaneous payments to general ledger accounts that include cash, checks, and electronic wire payments through the OPAL Cashiering System. Reviews student accounts through the Student Billing System (SBS). Analyzes and solves problems related to registration and payment processes. Prioritizes workload to meet daily payment deadlines and to adhere to the department’s performance standard regarding the timing and deposit of assets. Interacts diplomatically and applies listening and communication skills to a diverse population of students, University personnel, and the general public in order to provide a high level of customer service. Completes all transactions daily in accordance with OP and internal control guidelines for cash handling. Maintains independent responsibility and individual accountability in all aspects of cashiering operations. Balances check and cash deposits to transaction totals generated by the OPAL Cashiering System. Performs administrative duties as required. Prepares the end-of-day deposit for transport to the UC’s depository bank. Completes daily cashiering activity reports for the department and Accounting.

Salary: Range $20.64 – $24.24
Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F
Career Position.
Must be willing to work overtime during peak period processing.
