&l t;strong >Summary
Check pad mount transformers to ensure they are in satisfactory condition and are secured with both penta bolt and pad lock. Observe and document transformer condition and mark and/or notify management when transformer needs attention based on predetermined criteria.
Responsibilities
Drive a predetermined route throughout the Xcel Energy service territory to check pad mount transformers to ensure that they are in satisfactory condition and meet security standards. Pull on transformer door to ensure that the door is secure and properly locked. Check to see if transformer is rusted, has other damage etc, and report damage to management. Determine if damage needs to be marked for follow up or needs immediate attention.
Accurately complete check list to document transformer condition and items for follow up with field personnel and/or management. If approached while in the field, be able to explain to customers the work being performed.
Required
High school diploma or GED
Must have the ability to walk several miles per day through urban, suburban, and rural areas
Valid drivers license and a good driving record
Must be available to work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from May 15th through August 15th
Must have a cell phone or have the ability to obtain one
Must have the ability to bend and crouch many times during the day
Must be able to read and follow maps
Must be able to push/pull up to 20 lbs.
Strong customer focus and the ability to deal with customer concerns and questions
