This position is within the Operations and Financial Planning department and provides direct support for Gas/Electric
Service and Distribution departments. Employees in this position are required to have a wide range of skills, knowledge
and expertise in technical areas, business, and customer relations. Employees perform their role in a highly paced
environment which requires strong multi-tasking, analytical and communication skills. Typical responsibilities include:
planning and scheduling construction, maintenance and “emergent” work; monitoring workload and available resources
making appropriate adjustments, as necessary; coordinating activities with customers, employees, departments, and
outside agencies to meet customer commitments; conducting weekly scheduling meetings; and supporting storm
operations.
Due to the training involved in getting a new employee fully functional in the Scheduler role, upon accepting this position,
you will be ineligible to apply for another internal job posting outside the Technical Support job family during the first
twenty four months.
Requirements/Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
A minimum of one year of customer service or technical work experience
Excellent team work and communication skills
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated success multitasking, troubleshooting and working with a sense of urgency
SAP or similar work management system experience a plus
Completion of college level courses or a degree in a scientific or technical field is a plus
Prior scheduling experience a plus
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Position will be filled at the appropriate level based on selected candidate’s skills and experience.
Essential functions
Talking on the phone or radio, using a computer and managing multiple applications for up to 8 hours or more per day,
follow and provide written and oral work instructions, typing, writing and taking notes, be able to use standard office
equipment, be able to multitask, communicate clearly with customers, contractors, and employees, staying calm and
composed in high pressure situations or emergencies. A Scheduler may be required to maintain on-call support for work
management centers. Performs other related duties as required.
