United States of America: Associate, eMTCT & Pediatric HIV

Founded in 2002 by President William J. Clinton, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems around the world and expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and other illnesses. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via improved organization of commodity markets and more effective local management. By working in association with governments and other NGO partners, CHAI is focused on large scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower pricing agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In addition, CHAI’s teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to tackle many of the largest barriers to effective treatment and care.

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is looking for an Associate, eMTCT & Pediatric HIV . The Associate will be a part of a growing eMTCT & Pediatric HIV team, which is primarily responsible for driving strategy development and execution of country and global activities to achieve ambitious, but achievable impact on new pediatric HIV infections, pediatric ART coverage, and pediatric mortality from HIV/AIDS. The primary goal of our pediatric HIV treatment scale-up work is to close the gap between adult and pediatric HIV coverage rates in 7-10 countries over the next 3-5 years, while moving towards eliminating pediatric HIV in the long-term.

Flexibility for placement in CHAI Programmatic Countries in Africa per Country Leadership approval.

CHAI is supporting a comprehensive effort to support partner governments to reduce new pediatric infections and improve the long-term survival of all children affected by HIV/AIDS. The Associate will provide support to the Global eMTCT & Pediatric HIV team. S/he will work with relevant country team program managers, and other stakeholders in CHAI focus countries to pursue unique contributions CHAI can make to accelerate scale-up of effective and efficient eMTCT-peds treatment coverage. The Associate will help structure and drive key quantitative and qualitative analyses around major eMTCT/peds programmatic issues, particularly related to the impact of scaling up interventions such Provider-Initiated testing and Counseling outside of eMTCT, integrated service delivery models to improve retention rates etc. S/he will also help design high-impact interventions to translate the results of relevant analyses into actionable plans and changes in policy and operations at global and country levels. S/he will be involved in various aspects of program management including planning, budgeting, monitoring & evaluation, knowledge management, qualitative and quantitative analysis, implementation, and reporting.
